Coco Coir is most commonly shipped from the tropics, where it is produced, in compressed blocks, compressed four fold. This means that a 1/2 cubic foot block will expand to become 2 or more cubic feet of media. Traditionally, to decompress our block, we would soak them in clean water and then drain them like spaghetti. This process is labor intensive and if you need volumes of Coco like we do, quite time consuming.
Now with our new equipment, made in America, we will be able to process Coco with great speed and the design of the equipment is ever so gentle on the Coir fibers. This means that we can continue to provide the best value in retail, custom and contract mixed soils. If you are in the greater Denver or Colorado region and appreciate Coco as your grow media or media component, give us a ring, we now have the best values in processed Coco in the region.
